General Functions: Under the overall guidance and direct supervision of the Health Program Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for support services to the Direct Health and Psychosocial Assistance Program (DHPAP). The following specific duties have been enumerated mainly for the incumbent to have a clear understanding of the position and the roles and responsibilities expected and should therefore not be considered absolute and exhaustive.
1. Coordinate with medical team, to develop and assist a health referral system using existing local primary health care structures and if necessary establish referral mechanism to the next higher health care facility. 2. Establish a referral pathway between the project’s clinical staff in the villages and the network of support services in the communities who can provide an added mental health care. 3. Maintain close collaboration with provincial/district health offices as well as key health care givers and community leaders in each district and NGO’s 4. Advocacy in primary role of coordinating project activities with Dinkes, Puskesmas, other government agencies (Dinsos, etc) and Local NGO’s in 2 local district in which the project takes place. 5. Secondary role working on community organizing activities in the relevant villages. 6. Liaise/coordinate with the international health agencies present as well as national and local health authorities to ensure IOM’s plan of action complements the action of others and fits well within the national health plans. In this respect, attend coordination meeting and inter agency meetings. 7. Participate in in-house coordination among the different sections/programs in the sub-office. 8. Make weekly up dated and/or tentative report on the program with supervision and consultation of program manager. 9. Undertake other duties that may be assigned from time to time which are commensurate to the position.
Desirable Qualification
Indonesian nationality, degree in psychology or community development with at least three to five of clinical practice and/or equivalent education and training relative to psychology or community development. Minimum of two years clinical practice and experience of psychosocial/ mental health an asset has experience and knowledge of project implementation, monitoring and evaluation of activities.
Computer literacy, report writing ability and good administrative skills, experience in community coordination and networking skills are distinct advantage, .good communication, writing and negotiation skills, personal commitment, efficiency and flexibility, ability to work in difficult situations, and can work effectively and harmoniously with colleagues from varied cultures and professional backgrounds at all levels. Team work orientated, ability to work independently, sensitive to gender and cultural issues, efficient, flexible, experience in working for international aid organizations/ agencies.
Willingness to travel and to work under difficult conditions with minimal supervision, fluent in English and Bahasa, knowledge of Acehnese an asset.
