CARE International Indonesia, an international Non-Government Organization, is implementing Recovery Programme in the Tsunami hit areas of Banda Aceh, Aceh Besar and Simeulue
The programme aims to rehabilitate tsunami affected population of the three districts. CARE International Indonesia is presently seeking the following positions to be based in Banda Aceh:
SAFETY AND SECURITY MANAGER
MAIN PURPOSE: The S&S Manager is the key link between senior management and the security team and provides important leadership to the security unit. He/She lso responsible for the daily operations of the security unit including scheduling, performance appraisals and other administrative matters.
RESPONSIBILITIES: · Work closely with the PSU Coordinator and Fleet Manager to ensure the safety of CARE staff and security of all premises. · Aid senior management in the analysis of incidents, trends and lessons learned on security and protection issues. · Take the lead role on investigations and support DMs when an incident occurs. · Provide and/or recommend appropriate training for security staff and other employees, i.e. first aid. · Advise on site selection for office building/ logistical/ residential accommodation. Ensure appropriate steps are taken to safeguard office premises, equipment and residential property (guards, locks, lighting, alarms, and fire equipment). · Provide link between CARE staff and CARE guards on safety and security issues. · Provide orientation to ensure all new staff understands risks and personal responsibility for own safety and understand the importance of respecting CARE S&S rules and regulations. · Supervise and enforce (including disciplinary action where necessary) safety and security standards amongst all staff to maintain discipline and compliance with agreed policies and procedures. · Overall responsibility for daily operations and functioning of the security team. · Identify any gaps in the team and make suggestions for replacement or rotation of guards. · Identify potential candidates for promotion with the team and new responsibilities to be delegated.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor degree in relevant study and/or a minimum of five years of work experience in a relevant field · CERT II and III as well as general SSO training, 1st aid kit training · Previous NGO experience in difficult working conditions, preferably in an emergency setting · Experience and understanding of a multicultural working environment · Ability to complete given assignments accurately with minimum supervision · Sound knowledge of capacity building techniques · Ability to work under pressure and to be tactful · High sense of personal integrity, discretion, initiative and judgment · Advanced verbal and written English and Bahasa Indonesian skills · Advanced computer skills in MS Word and Excel
