We are preparing to commence a new long-term project in the education sector, which is to be based in Jakarta. The program will provide technical assistance to the Government of Indonesia to support school-based management of Australian-funded schools and to enhance national and subnational government management of schools funded by both Australia and Indonesia. The program will be responsible for supporting the development of a nationwide accredited training system for principals, school supervisors and local government education officials. In addition to these services, the program will support the accreditation of Islamic schools, and manage block grants to Islamic schools and designated accreditation support entities. JOB DESCRIPTION Post title: National Project Coordinator (National UN Volunteers) Duration: 4 months with possible extension Date required: 1st September 2011 Duty station: Ambon, Maluku Province, Indonesia Counterpart: Maluku Provincial Government (MPG) Duties: The National Project Coordinator (NPC) will work under the overall direction and supervision of the UNIDO Technical Backstopping Officer and in close cooperation with the MPG. The NPC will be oversee project implementation; he will be stationed in the Maluku Technology Center (MTC), and function as the head of the Project Management Unit and as coordinator with ILO in this cooperation project. He will be assisted by a long-term international Technical Project Advisor and a Senior Technical Advisor. Qualifications: The selected candidate will be an Indonesian national meeting the following criteria: - University degree, preferably in food technology, rural development or another relevant discipline; - Minimum age 30-45 years with at least 5 years of practical experience in projects management or civil service; - Experience on project implementation with NGOs or other donor funded initiatives, - Experience in working within UN-system, preferably knowledgeable on UNIDO administrative routines - Good knowledge of project management activities and coordination, including project monitoring and evaluation; understanding of conflict management. - Self-starter, meticulous and well organized at work; service oriented approach, independence and sound judgment; - Excellent team player with the ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines; - Ability to manage multiple tasks; good analytical and report writing skills; - Good communication, public relations and interpersonal skills; Good command of MS Office applications; - Fluent in English language (writing and oral). TRANSLATOR/ INTERPRETER CHANGES FOR JUSTICE (C4J) PROJECT Chemonics International Inc., a leading international consulting firm, seeks to fill the following long-term, full-time positions for a project funded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Indonesia Changes for Justice (C4J). The primary objective of the C4J project is to improve the performance of Indonesia’s justice system, a prerequisite for good governance and sustained economic growth, through cooperation with the Supreme Court and Attorney General’s Office (AGO) of the Republic of Indonesia. Specific requirements The Translator/Interpreter translates internal and official documents for the C4J Project from English into Bahasa Indonesia, and from Bahasa Indonesia into English, including laws, regulations, official project correspondence, reports, news, press releases, presentations, and other project-related documents, as well as providing consecutive and simultaneous interpretation as needed at meetings, trainings, and other events. The Translator/Interpreter will contribute to all technical aspects of the C4J Project. The Translator/Interpreter will contribute to all aspects of the C4J project, which includes a range of support for the Supreme Court and Attorney General’s Office (AGO) and their subordinate courts and prosecutors offices. Technical aspects of C4J’s judicial reform work include, but are not limited to, judicial and prosecutorial training, court administration, public information, human resources, budgeting and finance, and information technology. The Translator/Interpreter will be expected to contribute to the project quarterly reports, annual work plans, and other project reports and deliverable as called for by the occasion. The Translator/Interpreter will be called upon by the Chief of Party to join C4J project staff on field trips throughout Indonesia. The Translator/Interpreter will report directly to the Chief of Party or his designate. Qualifications The Translator/Interpreter is responsible for ensuring clarity, accuracy and consistency in all project translations, particularly for legal terminologies between English and Bahasa Indonesia. A university degree in law is preferred, and specific experience in legal translation is required. Related training and/or work experience might be substituted for a university degree if the C4J Project determines that the relevant experience is equivalent to the expertise normally associated with the appropriate law degree. |
