ABOUT PROJECT World Bank has intended to carry out qualitative impact study of the PNPM-Rural and Community Cash Transfer (CCT) programme under National Programme for Community Empowerment or Program Nasional Pemberdayaan Masyarakat (PNPM) in Indonesia. Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. has been short listed to submit proposal to conduct impact study in five provinces of Indonesia i.e (West Java, East Java, Gorontalo, North Sulawesi and NTT). This Qualitative Impact Study will probe deeper into questions of poverty, poverty targeting, access to markets and services, local governance and empowerment, maternal and child health services and access to education. ABOUT RAMAN DEVELOPMENT CONSULTNATS Raman Development Consultants Pvt. Ltd. is management consulting firm based in India. Focus areas of Raman Development Consultants are research, training and capacity building and project management. Raman Development Consultants has worked with World Bank, UN agencies, Bilateral and Multilateral agencies and national and International NGO,COBs. Funded and supported projects. (1) Designation: Field Supervisor Overall Responsibilities: Direct the implementation of the field research for each of the impact evaluation studies in close collaboration with the team leader and supervise field researchers during field research at kecamatan and village levels.Roles and Reasonability: Specifically, the Supervisor will be responsible for the following tasks:· Summarize study findings per site· Field test the question guides and methodology; finalize the field guides (questions guides and methodology) to be used by the team during the field research;· Train field researchers regarding the background, the objectives and the methodology of the impact evaluation study. Ensure that all researchers are provided with field guides;· Initiate findings categorization based on study data.· Supervise the selection of research sites (kecamatan and villages/kelurahan)· Lead daily discussion with field team to summarize preliminary findings and direct the study· Closely monitor the progress of the researchers during field research and ensure high quality data collection by visiting the research locations;· Provide direct technical support to field researchers.· Coordinate closely with government authorities to ensure that field research teams receive the necessary support;· Support site report writing based on field findings· Supervise the cleaning of data, conduct data analysis and produce draft reports for review and comments by the World Bank;· Together with team leader analyze data, and write final report.· After receiving comments and inputs from the World Bank, prepare the final report for distribution, together with team leader. Reporting: Reporting to Team leader of the assignmentSupervisor will be reported by field researchers in his team Job Specification: · Sectoral experience- The job requires knowledge of field supervision of poverty/Socio-economic related projects · Functional work exposure- at least five years of professional experience in qualitative field research (in urban as well as rural areas), development work and evaluations of development programs, including staff supervision experience. Previous experience with government-supported health and education projects is highly desirable.· Academic qualifications- The Supervisor should have a recognized degree (min. S1 degree) in a relevant field such as social sciences, public health or education. - Knowledge requirements-
- English language will be as contract language.
- Fully familiarity in Writing, Speaking and Reading of languages and local dialect spoken in the research locations (in the provinces of West-Java and Nusa Tenggara Timur) are highly desirable.
- Skill requirements-
- Interpersonal and leadership to direct and develop a small team of multi-disciplinary team
- Candidate must have solid oral and written communication skills
- Travel needs- The project envisages intensive travelling within state/province and high energy inputs.

- Experience of working in provinces of Indonesia
Job Nature: · Candidate must be available for about two months for first phase and for four months for in second phase to be carried out in October to May 2010· Position is contract basis only.· Please let us know your expectation in Indonesian Currency.
